Manage Your Budgets
Manage the budgets allocated to you by your org, for awarding and recognizing your peers
Budgets are blocks of monetary points allocated to users to enable them to award other users on Empuls. Users can give out monetary awards or approve award nominations only when they have sufficient points in their personal budgets. Typically, the Empuls Super Admins create budget points and allocate them to various users in the organization. These users can then choose to share their budget points, further along, the chain, with other users or use them to give awards themselves. Here is how budgets work on Empuls.
All users in Empuls have access to their own Personal Budget . Points in the Personal Budget can be used across all the award categories, and their utilization depends on the user's discretion.
When points are allocated to a user's Personal Budget, he/she becomes the owner of those points and the admins do not have control over those points anymore. The new budget owners can then choose to give out awards to their peers using these budget points or pass them along to others in the organization based on need and availability. This is how Empuls ensures democratic utilization of its most important resource - Budget Points.
Custom Budgets are those which are created for specific awards and can be used only for giving out awards that they are linked to. Empuls admins can create custom budgets, link specific awards to them and then allocate the newly created budget to various people in the organization. All budgets apart from the General Purpose Budgets fall under the 'Custom Budget' category.
The budget owners can then use points in the custom budget to give out awards linked to it by the admin. Once the points in the custom budget are exhausted, users can no more give out awards linked to that custom budget. This is how Empuls admins can control the organizational spend on various award categories.
Navigate on the Left Menu to Manage Budgets in your Empuls account. This page contains all the budgets owned by you and the remaining points balance across them. You can share budget points, request for more points from the admin, or create new budgets for your team, all from here.
